Summer Camp

We have missed you! Join us this summer for some exciting camps and much needed time with the RiverQuarium animals and Thronateeska exhibits! Join us for both camps to receive a 10% discount.

Campers will explore the aquarium and science museum daily and complete crafts and science experiments, all while learning more about our natural world. Each camper also will receive a reusable water bottle to use during the week.

The RiverQuarium and Thronateeska education teams are committed to the safety of our campers, staff and collections. We will be following CDC Summer Camp Guidelines and AZA COVID-19 Zoological Guidelines. Please see below for an outline of the additional safety measures our staff has implemented for our summer camp season.

 A Geology Rocks facebook event

We think geology ROCKS! And we hope you will too after this camp! Join us as we explore and learn about all the things that make up the planet we call home. Campers will learn all about the layers of the Earth, how the Earth moves under our feet, how water moves on our planet and even create their own volcanoes!

Flint RiverQuarium staff is committed to the safety of your camper. In addition to daily disinfection of our indoor spaces and tools, we have modified our camp structure.

  • Groups sizes have been reduced to 12-14 campers.
  • Campers, counselors, and youth volunteers will not swap groups in an effort to limit exposure.
  • We are unable to offer before camp care or after camp care; to limit exposure we cannot introduce a different counselor for before and after camp care.
  • Campers, staff and volunteers will have their temperature checked upon arrival and throughout the day.
  • Each group will have their own indoor space, supplies, and tools. Groups and supplies are not permitted to swap between indoor spaces.
  • Campers will be socially distanced at all times while outdoors.
  • Campers will be encouraged to wear a mask indoors and will be socially distanced where possible.
  • Campers will have their own designated space for personal items.
  • Campers must bring their own lunch and snacks; we are unable to offer lunches or snacks.
  • Campers are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle every day.
